What is the Laissez-Faire Capitalism Institute “Atlas” (LFCIA)?
We are an independent, non-political and not-for-profit association setting itself a number of goals: to work towards the improved and more widespread understanding of laissez-faire capitalism based on the principles of reason, rational individual interest and individual rights. The members of the LFCIA are individuals who have already attained a degree of success through sustained effort and entrepreneurship. A key purpose of their lives is their own and families’ prosperity attained through serving others in the free exchanges of the market.

Our core mission is to help form a society-wide pro-capitalist attitude and mentality. By making it a more powerful force in society; such a consciousness will naturally help educate people and allow them to make more meaningful and informed political and personal choices.

What is the basis of Laissez-Faire Capitalism Institute “Atlas”? What do its members believe in?
The Laissez-Faire Capitalism Institute “Atlas” will work towards the creation of a society in which the activities of intellectual leaders of the nation are firmly based on reason and are able to generate useful, practical ideas and a society in which entrepreneurs have a well-developed, ethical justification and set of principles for their activities. For over 20 years capitalism in Bulgaria has been portrayed in a manner aiming at its distortion and emptying it of its legitimacy. Yet, capitalism is the only social system fully recognizing individual rights and the members of the Institute will take it upon themselves to defend it morally. Capitalism has a right to that as it is by essence ethical. It is also noble as it is based on free agreements and exchanges between free individuals.

What are the goals of Laissez-Faire Capitalism Institute “Atlas”?
1. Improving the understanding, and enhancing of the principles of reason, rational individual interest, individual rights and laissez-faire capitalism; 2. Assisting in the strengthening of free entrepreneurship and private initiative as central means of personal and social progress; 3. Implementing independent monitoring of central state, regional and municipal institutions in view of protecting individual rights.

How will the Laissez-Faire Capitalism Institute “Atlas” attain its goals?
By means of: 1. Develop educational programs for assisting and training people better to appreciate and understand laissez-faire capitalism. 2. Publish printed materials to disseminate of our ideas, activities and research projects. 3. Projects to disseminate and implement laissez-faire capitalism. 4. Conduct, support and assist surveys and scientific research on the philosophy of Ayn Rand – objectivism. 5. Publish articles in Bulgarian and foreign periodicals as well as publishing a monthly e-newsletter. 6. Creation and maintenance of an Internet site, comprehensive internet and media presence of the Institute allowing easy access to information about its activities. 7. Organization and holding of symposia, seminars, conferences, lectures, working sessions and other national and international meetings aimed at fulfilling the goals of Laissez-Faire Capitalism Institute “Atlas”. 8. Eventually to create a CENTER FOR EDUCATIONAL STUDIES AND PRACTICES – a Bulgarian version of the Mises Institute.
